We are looking for a dynamic individual to be the full-time editor of our
blog about San Francisco, SFist.com. The job requires a highly motivated and
curious individual who loves San Francisco and is interested in writing
about it for a growing audience. This is a great opportunity for someone to
get immediate experience and exposure in a truly instantaneous form of
media.
The editor will be expected to write a number of posts per day, as well as
manage a group of contributors to maintain an daily editorial schedule. The
editor should be prepared to write about breaking news should events occur.
We are looking for a college graduate who is very Internet savvy. Being
familiar with online news sources is a must. Blogging-experience is also required. The candidate should also be very comfortable with blogging platforms, social media, and the internet in general.
The editor will report to the publisher and editorial director of the
Gothamist LLC network. We'll provide you with support to hold meetings and
events with staff and readers, but the editor will largely be autonomous.
