Looking for a talented comic book artist to help me create a story I've been working on for a year.
The book centers around a vampire hunter as he passes through 2000 years of human history. Due to the subject matter there will obviously be some fun high-octane sequence to draw, but I hope the character evolutions and interpersonal subplots will prove as entertaining and compelling as the stakes and undead stuff.
I'm eager to share this story with an excellent comic book artist. I'd like to output something beautifully colored and elaborately drawn, but more than anything I want to see this baby come to life. You would be given free reign on design elements, and once we acquire a feel for each other's styles, who knows what kind of great stuff we can come up with!
My plan is to put out the books on a semi-regular basis (one a month, ideally!) and self-publish, via both digital distribution and comic book conventions and whatever else we can get.
Thus far, I have only scripted the first issue, but I have a long and elaborate outline for the overally story arc. I don't want to slap a full manuscript in anyone's hands: I believe Neil Gaiman when he says the best comic book scripts are letters to the artists who draw them. Your price would be negotiable, although I'm obviously hoping it would be a labor of love for you AND me... but I'm certainly willing to discuss a range of figures.
