DV8 Productions, Inc., an entertainment news and event planning company, has been steadily growing in popularity and influence following its highly successful Website Launch Party for www.TheCinemaSource.com, in March 2003. We work closely with a variety of major studios including; Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks, etc.
Job Description:
We are looking for someone with a fresh perspective on the entertainment industry, TV and movies in particular, to join our staff for the summer semester and write reviews for our site. The website receives over 10 Million hits per month generated from close to 1 Million unique visitors and is continuing to grow incredibly fast. The position will require that you be available to attend preview screenings and possible press junkets when they occur. Other duties such as attending promotional events and assisting in advertising endeavors will also apply. You will be expected to assist in the planning and execution of various promotional events (including major studio movie screenings and parties, both private & public); the development of sponsorship agreements; advertising campaigns; venue scouting & research; as well as promotion of the website in general via guerilla marketing and flyering.
Willingness to learn media skills in other mediums such as radio and television production is a plus.
Writing is a major part of this internship. You will be expected to produce a minimum of 2 – 3 pieces per week, averaging approximately 850 words each.
Job Qualifications:
We are looking for a college-aged individual who is well written and who has no problem expressing his or her opinions in a fair and balanced way. Also must have the ability to conduct one on one interviews and then translate those interviews into feature article form. In depth knowledge of the industry is important, as is the ability to work both independently and on deadline. Sincere and easy going is also a Must!
