Bulldog Reporter, a PR and media relations news service, is hiring a part-time reporter (20 hours per week) to cover the media industry beat. This is a great opportunity for a freelance reporter or writer seeking stable income—especially if you have worked closely with PR people.

This is an onsite, PT job with potential for telecommuting in the future.

About Bulldog Reporter:

Bulldog Reporter (www.bulldogreporter.com/dailydog) is a high-priced print and online subscription newsletter service that covers news and trends in the national media for a readership of top PR professionals. Our mission is to provide PR pros with actionable information on journalists, including their PR preferences and the kinds of stories, material and info they like to hear about from PR people.

About the media industry reporter position:

The reporter will research and interview journalists at top media outlets and report on the topics and info within their coverage areas as well as their preferences for receiving PR material. You will then write up the interviews into 75 to 150-word "pitching briefs" containing service-oriented, actionable and informative content.

The position requires interviewing journalists in all mediums (print, TV, radio, online and more) and across all media beats—so this is a great opportunity for a budding journalist to learn about the industry and how it operates. Because the interviews are done over the phone, excellent phone skills are required in addition to concise writing skills.

To be considered for the position, email a cover letter and your resume to frankz@bulldogreporter.com. Additionally, provide two (2) writing samples consisting of articles 250 words or fewer and one (1) writing sample consisting of an article of 500 to 750 words.
