About The Position:
This key UI Software Engineer position is a hands-on role, and the ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Java/Web UI development. In addition, the applicant will serve as an expert-level resource to other employees and assist in product planning, architecture and development. This position is fulltime and offers telecommuting opportunities. Salary is commensurate with level of experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for hands-on Java/web UI development efforts in a multi-tier, distributed environment
• Hands-on Java Swing GUI development
• Provide technical expertise in the operation and troubleshooting of applications
• Support a 24x7 internet product
Requirements Qualifications:
• 5+ years Java development experience
• Strong knowledge of Servlets, JSP, JSF, XML, Javascript, HTML, CSS
• Strong knowledge of the Java Swing and third-party UI libraries
• Developing test cases for unit tests in JUnit
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications:
• BS, Computer Science
• Skills in Java technologies including threads, JDBC and EJB
• Knowledge of JFreeChart, Jasper Reports and JGoodies
• Experience with Java J2EE servers, JBoss in particular
• Good, working knowledge of Eclipse and CVS
• Strong Linux/Windows OS knowledge
• Experience with high-volume, 24x7 availability production environments
